We now have an appt set up with the Hematologist. It is for July 6th. After reviewing his files they determined it wasn't an emergency, but to get in at the next available appt...which was July 6th. I am happy that they aren't worried enough to rush us in, but having to wait 24 days is going to be difficult for this momma!! I am more level headed then when I wrote my last post. I know that no matter what God is involved in this. Good or bad, positive or negative, health or sickness...God is there to hold my hand and guide me through. I pray that he actually does provide me peace and wisdom during this time. I will definitely update after his appointment...in 24 days...did I mention it's gonna be 24 days??!! :}
{Please continue to pray for my sweet wonderful family. And I would also ask that you pray for my MIL...who is having to make some very difficult decisions regarding her mother (Joey's grandmother).}

My Worst Fear
Months ago before he was born I read an extremely sad post about a little boy who died after contracting Pertussis and RSV. Unfortunately I have not been able to put that story out of my mind. A baby does not get vaccinated for Pertussis until 8 weeks....so I have {im}patiently been waiting for today's visit to the doctor...his 2 month check up!! I thought finally I would be relieved that he was finally going to get his vaccine and I would have nothing left to worry about. I was not expecting to have something new to worry about.
As soon as the doctor came in she asked if I had gotten her voicemail...I hadn't....so she proceeded to tell me that Owen's blood work was abnormal. And not just abnormal once, but twice. Infants are screened when they are 1-2 days old and then again after 2 weeks of age. Here in Texas they are tested for approximately 6-8 different tests. She then tells me of all the diseases he could have this is the best!! REALLY? I don't want my child to have any diseases, but hey....guess I'll take the best one!! He failed this:
- Hb S/S (sickle cell anemia)
- Hb S/A (hemoglobin S/beta-thalassemia)
- Hb S/C (hemoglobin S/C disease)
His doctor promptly said he didn't have Sickle Cell. She was sure. Yay!
But of course I came home and did research on the computer that showed he could have had false positives (which I would have believed if he had only failed once), all the way to cancer....leukemia. Seriously?
And there you have it? My worst fear EVER recognized. Of course I know that once we see the Hematologist he could say O-bug is just fine, or he could give me the worst news ever. I will be calling for an appointment tomorrow afternoon. The docs have to review his case...and decide on the urgency. I don't want to call tomorrow and they say he needs to come in immediately....but I also don't want them to say don't worry about it and we'll see ya in a few weeks. I will worry myself silly. So here I will sit and wait and try to put all my faith in Christ that my sweet little O-bug will be fine.
I love you Owen....you are such a sweet baby!!

Bags Welcome Here
Here is my latest project....a place to hang your hat! Err...someplace to hang your purse, diaper bag, backpack, etc!! I was constantly putting my purse and 2-3 diaper bags in our dining room chairs and hated it. So I found this board at my Grandma's house and decided it needed a home...my home!! Teehee!! I started with the above paint...LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!
Here is the board during placement of all the hooks. I bought them at Walmart for $1.97 each. What a deal.
Yep....that is my hubbs working away....man what a hairy beast!! In case you're curious...no, he doesn't have any back hair!!! hahaha! Anyways, I marked where I wanted them and he screwed them in place.
Then he went to hang it...WHAT AN ORDEAL!! None of my ideas were working. It kept tilting and I knew once it was holding bags it would tilt even more. Luckily we came up with a few different ideas and one finally worked. Three LARGE NAILS throughout this board did the job.
Here it is before I dressed it up!! Woo-doggies!! I likey likey!! It is perfect for what our family needed. Thank goodness for free boards....beat up and all!!
And here she is all purty and stuff!!! I am not sure that the saying is exactly what I envisioned, but everyone that has come through my front door seems to like it! And then I just added some ribbon to fancy it up a little!!!
Welcome home friends....please hang your hat (or bag) and stay a while!!! ;)
Hope you enjoyed this project....I am ecstatic about her beauty and functionality!! Thanks for stopping by!

Family Love
I came to the realization last night at Aidan's baseball game that my children are so very lucky. They not only have parents that are married, but two sets of grandparents as well as two great grandmothers!! And how lucky they are to get to spend time with each one of them on a weekly basis.....just take yesterday....Gaga came by to watch the kids while I took B for her 2year check-up, Papaw brought us milk, then Grandma came and took Finn to get his glasses fixed, then Gaga, Grandpa, Grandma and Papaw all came to Aidan's game....and if that wasn't enough Papaw came back by to work on our lawn mower!! And do not be fooled...not only am I glad that my children get to spend time with family, I am thrilled for myself as well!!! Many days I am just about to pull my hair out when one of the grandparents calls to say they are coming by to get the kids or have them spend the night!! Whoohoo for WONDERFUL GRANDPARENTS!!
My kiddos also get to spend time with our extended family...numerous uncles, aunts and cousins...how incredibly blessed they are!!

Shutters-up!! It's a Mirror!!
Here a few more objects in B's new big girl room!! I got these shutters at Habitat Re-store...an incredible store and a great charitable company! I got a pair for $4. They were a nasty dirty brown color. They had layers of filth on them, so it took quite a while to clean them up before spray painting them.
It was somewhat difficult spray painting every little lip of the shutters, but it was all worth it!! They are beautiful and I love them. They make the perfect addition to her room. She needed a big art piece for this wall, but on a {po' man's} budget!! haha!
Another budget friendly (free) item in her room is this great mirror. It belonged to my parents and they gave it to me years ago. I have dragged it from home to home, but it has finally found its forever home!! It fits so perfectly in here...she can stare at herself all day...teehee!!
Please ignore the dirty clothes in the reflection of the mirror!!
And another close up of the details!! I used the same black spray paint as I did on the shutters. Rustoleum Glossy Black. I love how it turned out!!! Okay, I must admit there is something wrong with the mirror though.....even though you can't see it!!! ;) I forgot to paint the bottom....the bottom lip is still brown!! Ugh!!! I didn't realize it until I went to hang it, but at that point I was out of paint, so....it shall remain unpainted for now!!
I think she really loves her room and so do I....black, white and pink....oh, so very cute!!
