Here is the Tremaine Halloween/Fall mantle!! I really like the way it turned out. I stressed for a long time on how I was going to decorate it...so many choices, but being limited by budget!! I wanted to make sure it was kid friendly {not too scary} and that it could last all of October and November {so nothing JUST Halloweenish}.
I started off with this WONDERFUL {diamond in the rough} old window!! My momma gave it to me years ago, and although I knew it had great potential, I put it away for a rainy day. Well, it wasn't a rainy day....but when i saw this sitting way back in my garage I just knew....this was going to be the centerpiece to my mantle!! I love it!!! It is surprisingly delicate. I had to be extremely careful when cleaning it and moving it. The caulking holding the glass is deteriorating so I had to be very gently with the Windex! Ha!! It has flecks of blue-green in it {i am sooo in love!!}.
{first...I admit these pics are not in the order I wanted...but moving on}
These pumpkins were purchased at Hobby Lobby for $2 and $3.50!!! Such a steal. They are so delicate and lovely.
Next are the AWESOMELY SIMPLE black sticks!! My Bestie~~Ashlee~~gave me this wonderful idea {okay, I actually just stole the idea after she mentioned it}!! I took a bunch of branches out of someones yard {HA!!} and my kiddos beat the sticks on the side of the house to get the leaves and "spiky things" off of them. They loved being such big helpers!! [After we beat the spiky things off I decided they would make a great decoration...also on the mantle, in a mason jar, with wheat coming out.] Once said sticks were ready I just spray painted them black. This was so simple and turned out so cool!! {Thanks Ashlee!!}
Hanging on the left side is this wreath. I used remnant orange burlap fabric from HL. I simply wrapped a plastic covered wreath. Super easy. Added a black crow from Dollar Tree and some awesome zebra ribbon!! Simple.Perfect.Love it!!
On the right hand side of the window is a frame with sparkly gourd scrapbook paper in it. It is hanging by some orange, yellow and black ribbon. Again easy, but I love it!!
And here is the other side of the mantle....the spiky things in the mason jar, another black frame with wicked witch scrapbook paper, and a large candlestick holder with what can only be described as a huge black artichoke!! Haha! I know that is not what it is {I think!!}...it was a 90% off purchase from Hob Lob!
that crow is perfect perched on that wreath. love your mantle, it is definitely one that could go through november, altho maybe not with the crow. halloween's my fave, so i really did it up over at my place!

This is a great vignette. Nicely done. It looks like something I would see in Pottery Barn or a Crate and Barrel catalog but better because it is all repurposed. Thank you for sharing it on Motivated Monday at Becolorful.
