Blue and Orange Baby Shower

Last month I was blessed to be able to co-host a baby shower for a wonderful little family.  Without going into super private details...this baby was so wanted and desired!  I went with an orange/blue/alphabet theme {because I found a super cute invitation with that theme...I ended up not needing the invites, but loved the idea...so I stuck with it (and I added in black and white polka dots as well)!}.

Our sweet preacher's wife, Vicki, offered up her home for the party...and it was the perfect size!!  She has a beautiful home- wonderful for hosting the shower!

We played "Pass the Popcorn"...I think everyone had a great time...it is not the typical "baby shower" game, and that's what I love about it!

We served chicken salad crossaint sandwiches, crackers, cheese, dips, chips and....

...THE BEST PUNCH known to man!!!  This recipe is easy and DELISH!  I may or may not have had 4 cups of it!!

The dessert table...the alphabet theme really came in here...each cupcake was topped with little letters!!  The cupcakes were SO yummy!!

Baby Landon Sneak Peek!!

I ADORE that last picture!!!  He was a wonderful baby...very cooperative...and so were his parents! ;)  I've saved some of the best pics for later!!  I'm still editing and having a blast doing so!!  I can't wait to reveal them all!!  Hope you like them Amanda and JJ!!

First Newborn Session!!!

I am so excited and VERY nervous...tomorrow morning I will be shooting my first newborn session!!!  I hosted a baby shower a few weeks ago for a wonderful woman (I will post pics of the shower later) and one of the gifts I gave her was a newborn/family photo session.  I warned her that I have never taken baby pics before, but that I am so willing and happy to let Baby Landon be my guinea pig!  So tomorrow I plan hope pray to take pictures like these:

This picture is at the TOP of their list!!  She texted me this picture and I pray I can pull it off!!  Ha!

The two littles and I went and scouted the area (which we've been to lots..but wanted fresh eyes on the area).  I got lots of ideas and I am praying that 1) the weather will be perfect 2) that we won't have to complete with other people trying to take pics 3) that God would bless this session...that JJ and Amanda would have beautiful pictures to look back on for years!!

What a Dump!

My dad has always said "You can't physically get better if you don't mentally feel better!"  Well I am here to testify that that is the truth FOR SURE!!  

If I am already sick AND feeling emotionally defeated it takes so LONG for me to get back to normal.  

Starting last Thursday the EVIL stomach bug hit our house...I hate him by the way...he's never ever to visit here again!! ;)  Aidan was up all night with puking and pooping.  The next day Finley got it.  Then we seemed to be in the clear.  That's how EVIL works ya know?  You think it's been dealt with and it quiets down for a bit...then it comes back even worse than before!!!  The hubs couldn't even get out of bed Monday...stomach ache, body aches, low fever...that continued for 2 days.  Then Tuesday I woke up with the EVIL stomach cramps and they have continued through today.  

So in the two days I've been down my house has gone to pot!  I have about 5,262 Hot Wheels cars in my living room floor!  I filled a whole garbage bag FULL of trash just from my kitchen!  We accumulated that much trash in just a couple of days.  I have 8 loads of freshly washed and dried clothes sitting in baskets on my dining room table.  Anywho...it's a bit daunting to say the least!  So again, it's hard for me to feel better when I have so much work to do when I feel better!!  

Around 7 tonight I finally felt a bit better...so I tackled the kitchen!  Whoop!  The living room and laundry will have to wait!!  Ha!  

Tomorrow is a new day...:)  

Poor Boy...

My poor Aidan has pretty much gotten the shaft when it comes to having a bedroom all put together.  He has been through many different beds, he's had a desk, then it was gone...lots of flip flopping...nothing consistent.  So I've decided it is time to work on his room...at least IDEAS for his room!  Here are some things I've pinned recently:

This one is too nautical, but I again love the colors.  Hmm...his dresser is red and I like the navy with it...but I want to combine them without looking nauticalish!  Also love the sophistication of this room.  Really love the pillows.

LOVE the beds....the pillows especially!  Love the striped comforter.  I do not like the mural on the wall though.

Semi-Wordless Wednesday..What Has Happened?

What has happened to my little girl?  Where has the sweet innocent baby girl gone?  And why has she been replaced with such a fart brat stinker ?  She has been VERY VERY difficult today....SUPER whiney, VERY angry, constant OUTBURSTS, screaming CONSTANTLY...and I am way sad about this new development.  

So I am going to wallow in my pity....and look at these pictures of when she was still my precious SWEET baby girl...sigh....

..............boo hoo, sniff, sniff.....I'm {sniff, sniff} okay.  It will get better....right?!!!!!
