Are You Ready for Some Football...Middle School Edition?

Omgoodness!!  Aidan had his first football game last week and his second game last night!!  It is so much fun to watch him!!!  Be forewarned...there are lots of pics that probably only family cares about...but I hope you enjoy them!

Number #63 {otherwise known as the tallest/biggest kid on the team}

{seriously....he dwarfs most of his teammates!}

{his opponent was a little smaller than Aidan....;)}

{getting chill bumps watching him pound the other team!!}

{the next two pics are of the coach telling him that he's awesome....or maybe not....I make it up as I go!}

{the next two are of his "almost sack"!!!  It was amazing!!!}

{look at that handsome boy!!}

Last nights game....

{that's right...he's taking on TWO opponents!!}

{half time...or as I referred to it at the game...Intermission!!!  Bwahaha!}

I'm just so very proud of this guy!!  It is amazing to watch him play and fight for his team!!  Go Wayside Wildcats!!!

Photo Dump...Week of August 10th

 Sunday after church we had lunch with sweet friends.  Michelle and Dan have such a beautiful home (with baby chicks in it!!!) and are always inviting people over to eat!!  This day some of the men were meeting to discuss starting a Bible study on Thursday nights.  I love that Joey is so involved in our church and is a great leader of our household!! ;)

Sunday afternoon selfie with my new mustard colored sweater from Target!

Sunday evening we celebrated my dad's birthday!!

Tuesday I accompanied dad to his chemo appt...to read more about that go HERE!

Wednesday I took the kids to the YMCA...we just joined!  Aidan "worked out" along beside me, while the others played in the KidZone.

Wednesday night we went back up to the Y for swimming!!  I sat on the side of the pool and watched...but next summer I will be in that water in a bathing suit-for sure!! ;)

Thursday we went to see B perform at CATS in Arlington!  She was PRECIOUS and super feisty!  She was great at the moves and knew her lines as well as EVERYONE else's (she whispered all of the lines)!!

Friday we kept Camille so Ashlee and Krys could take Josh and Keegan for one last fun day at Hawaiian Falls!!

She's a little loved by my kiddos!! ;)

Saturday I FINISHED painting our bedroom!!!  Now (after living here for 6 years) maybe I can decorate this room the way I really want!  Ha...probably not!! :)  BTW, the color of our walls is a gray...not this HORRIBLE yellow that my stupid phone is portraying!

Uh.uh.uh....Another week bites the dust!

Photo Dump...Week of August 3rd

We had a relaxing family Sunday...and it started with this...he needed to clean the windows.  I needed to get him better fitting undies!  Ha!!

Then we went and had Chuy's for lunch!!

That afternoon they were watching a movie together on the Kindle and little man fell asleep!  It was precious!

 Monday I watched Ashlee's crew while she worked.  Finn was at Robot Camp and B was with Gaga for her camp.  So it was just Aidan, Finn, Josh, Keegan and little Camille!  The boys played so well together!!  Board Games for everyone!  Ha!

 I picked up Finn from camp and he was slightly EXCITED!! :)  He loved it and couldn't wait to go back!

That night was football camp for Aidan!!!!!!!  What?!!!  My baby is playing football?  I know it's not really a surprise, but still...how is he old enough for this?  My stomach was in knots!  Knots!!!

 I planned on just dropping him off, but after seeing the sea of players I decided to stay and watch.  I loved it....Owen, not so much.  He sat and watched attentively at first...

 ...then proceeded to throw himself down on the bleacher floors!!!  He was HOT, TIRED, HUNGRY and super CRANKY!

Tuesday Robot Camp....

Thursday...luckily Joey was able to make it for the parent time and watch the tournaments!!

Thursday trombone practice...he's turning into his Grandpa...only goofball faces when I take his picture!

I tackled this cute and easy project this week.  It is just an old Coca Cola crate that I filled with markers, crayons, glue sticks and the like.  Now the kids won't have to scour the cabinets when the they need them!

Gaga sent me a sneak peak of B's camp!!  She is the kitty on the right!

Saturday I began painting the master bedroom!  I worked hard, but I'm thrilled with the progress...especially when I look at that bottom pic!!!!  Yikes AND nasty!  We need a headboard desperately!!  Thank goodness for new paint that can be scrubbed with a sponge and water!!  Stupid builder grade flat paint! :/

The weeks are flying by....

Happy Birthday...Here's to Chemo!!

I was able to take my dad to his chemo treatment on August 12th...which just happened to be his birthday.  What a way to celebrate!  I think it downright sucked to have to spend the day that way...but I was honored to be there and watch the whole process.

 Why yes, my dad wore his birthday hat!!

This week we would see the doctor, so we carried along a notepad, tablet and pens.  As well as his fanny pack that he has to wear for 3 days after chemo.

 You can just see his scar/incision/port entry on his chest...

I watched intently as the nurse got everything together...and we were lucky enough to have an extra visitor with us....my dad's friend Dennis!!  He is a hoot, and exactly who you want to have around when you are feeling down.

I didn't catch a picture of my dad wincing.  My dad is strong and doesn't complain about pain a lot...so I knew when he said that it "hurts" to get the needle put into his port, that it must really hurt!!  He winced all right, but was still so brave!

{better pics with my big camera}

And then after the drugs to keep him hydrated, anti-nausea and other such things,
it was time for THE drug.  :((

My dad....the goofball with that silly grin every time I try and take his picture!!!  But he is also amazing and definitely my hero.  He sat there and acted like this was no big deal, and while I'm sure there comes a point that this will seem like old hat, it is still scary and raw and real.

I love you dad.  #fightcancer
