Shutters-up!! It's a Mirror!!

Here a few more objects in B's new big girl room!! I got these shutters at Habitat Re-store...an incredible store and a great charitable company! I got a pair for $4. They were a nasty dirty brown color. They had layers of filth on them, so it took quite a while to clean them up before spray painting them.

It was somewhat difficult spray painting every little lip of the shutters, but it was all worth it!! They are beautiful and I love them. They make the perfect addition to her room. She needed a big art piece for this wall, but on a {po' man's} budget!! haha!

Here is a close up of where I sanded it. So easy and so inexpensive!

Another budget friendly (free) item in her room is this great mirror. It belonged to my parents and they gave it to me years ago. I have dragged it from home to home, but it has finally found its forever home!! It fits so perfectly in here...she can stare at herself all day...teehee!!

Please ignore the dirty clothes in the reflection of the mirror!!

And another close up of the details!! I used the same black spray paint as I did on the shutters. Rustoleum Glossy Black. I love how it turned out!!! Okay, I must admit there is something wrong with the mirror though.....even though you can't see it!!! ;) I forgot to paint the bottom....the bottom lip is still brown!! Ugh!!! I didn't realize it until I went to hang it, but at that point I was out of paint, so....it shall remain unpainted for now!!

I think she really loves her room and so do I....black, white and pink....oh, so very cute!!

  7. I love these shutters! What a cool project that turned out great! Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out my cheap wall art! :) That's funny that you said you have the same frames in your son's nursery - when I bought them, that's exactly where I would've put them if I kept them as is :)
